What is bubble tea?

Bubble tea — also called boba — is a tea-based drink finished with chewy tapioca pearls or other fun toppings. It can be served hot or iced, with or without milk, sweetened to your liking. Pick a base, add a topping, dial in your sugar and ice, and you’ve got it.

How fresh is the tea I’m drinking?

Our tea is freshly brewed every 3 hours and standard boba cooked every 2 hours. Additionally, our Punch bestsellers Orange Green Tea and Strawberry Lemonade are made with freshly squeezed juices.

Where do you source your tea from?

The use of real tea leaves — handpicked from the high mountains of Taiwan — and fresh ingredients, coupled with our unique recipes and methods, makes it possible for us to deliver unrivaled beverages in spite of rising competition. All Kung Fu Teas are required to use the same high quality products for every ingredient of our beverages, so you can count on the same great quality at any of our locations.

What is the difference between Black, Green, Oolong and Thai teas?

Our Black tea is Earl Grey, with a light citrus note. Our Green is Jasmine, with a hint of florals. Our Oolong is roasted, giving it a toasty finish. Our Thai tea uses no artificial coloring. Full descriptions are on our Nutrition page.

What’s the difference between Wow Boba and Honey Boba?

Wow Boba is cooked with brown sugar until caramelized — toasty, softer, deeply sweet. Honey Boba is marinated in honey — classic chewiness with a lighter sweetness that pairs with everything on the menu.

Why isn’t my taro milk tea purple?

Taro’s color depends on the tea base. With our Earl Grey black tea, you’ll get a darker shade. With green tea or as a slush, the purple comes through brighter. Same delicious taro, different canvas.

Is your Coconut Milk Tea or Almond Milk Tea made with coconut or almond milk?

No — those drinks are coconut- and almond-flavored milk teas, made with our standard milk creamer. If you need a true dairy-free option, ask your local store about plant-based milk availability.

Do you offer decaf or caffeine-free options?

Our four core teas (Black, Green, Oolong, Thai) all contain caffeine. We do have caffeine-free drinks — see the Nutrition page for the full caffeine-free list.

Does Kung Fu Tea offer plant-based milk?

Plant-based milk is available at participating locations. Availability is still expanding, so the easiest way to confirm is to ask your local store or check the menu for that store in our app.

All Kung Fu Tea Ingredients are SGS Tested & Certified

No Lead. Just Delicious Boba.

We are aware of the Consumer Reports study on the boba category – which has led to some sensationalized reporting around whether boba was safe or not.

While we wish Consumer Reports reached out to us before publishing, we’d like to take a moment to address the study with our community.

We proudly source our boba directly from Taiwan, where our boba (like all of our ingredients) undergo regular annual testing from SGS. All products we import come with an SGS report and have passed SGS standards, with the last test from SGS in September 2025 showing lead was not detected in our boba.

We always support & advocate for greater transparency around sourcing across all food & beverage, and are happy to share our SGS lab results and documentation with any auditing company for verification.

Where do I find calories, sugar, and full nutrition info?

Our complete nutrition guide — calories, sugar, ingredients, and allergens for every drink — lives at kungfutea.com/nutrition.

Do you have a master allergen list?

Yes — the allergen guide is on our Nutrition page and covers dairy, soy, wheat/gluten, tree nuts, peanuts, and egg across our full menu.

Is your milk creamer dairy-free?

No. Our standard milk powder contains sodium caseinate (a milk protein), so it is not dairy-free or vegan.

Are any drinks vegan?

Several of our teas and slushes can be made without dairy when prepared with our plant-based milk options. Check the Nutrition page for vegan-friendly combinations.

Are any drinks gluten-free?

Most of our drinks do not contain gluten ingredients. We are not a certified gluten-free facility, so cross-contact is possible. Refer to the allergen column on our Nutrition page.

Do you have nut-free options?

Yes — the allergen guide flags every menu item that contains tree nuts or is prepared near them. Please let your barista know about a severe allergy when ordering.

Are your toppings allergen-friendly?

Toppings have their own allergen profile (for example, pudding contains egg and dairy). Full topping allergens are in our Nutrition guide.

How much caffeine is in my drink?

Caffeine varies by tea base and size. Our Nutrition page lists caffeine content per drink for each size.

What’s the default sugar level if I don’t pick one?

If you don’t specify, your drink will be made at 100% sweetness. You can request 0%, 30%, 50%, or 75% — just tell your barista or pick during online checkout.

Can I adjust ice level?

Yes — no ice, less ice, regular, or extra ice. Slushes don’t take ice modifications since they’re blended.

What cup sizes do you offer?

Most locations offer medium and large. Some specialty drinks (like slushes) come in a single size. Check your local store’s menu in the app for exact sizing.

Can I order my drink hot?

Yes — milk teas, classic teas, and several specialty drinks can be made hot. Slushes, punches, and yogurt drinks are iced-only by design.

Can I customize sugar and ice levels?

Yes — sugar (0% / 30% / 50% / 75% / 100%) and ice (none / less / regular / extra) on most drinks. Slushes and yogurt drinks don’t take ice adjustments.

Can I add multiple toppings?

Most stores allow stacking multiple toppings (boba, jellies, popping, pudding, red bean, and more). Each topping is added as a separate charge.

Do you have a secret menu?

We don’t officially support a secret menu — but if you can describe what you want with our ingredients, your barista will do their best.

What’s a Milk Strike, a Milk Cap, a Punch, and a Slush?

Milk Strike — milk-and-tea forward, lighter and creamier than milk tea.
Milk Cap — tea topped with a salted, frothy milk cap layer.
Punch — fruit-forward and citrus-bright, made with freshly squeezed juices.
Slush — blended-ice version of a tea or fruit drink.

Full series descriptions live on our Menu page.

Do you have seasonal or limited-time drinks?

Yes — we run seasonal series and limited-time drops throughout the year. See Seasonal Series and What’s New for the current lineup.

My favorite drink isn’t on the menu anymore — will it come back?

Some discontinued drinks rotate back during seasonal drops. Follow @kungfutea on Instagram or watch What’s New for return announcements.

Does my local store carry every drink on the website?

Most locations carry the full core menu. Seasonal and pilot items vary by region. The most accurate menu is the one shown for your store in the app.

How do I find the nearest Kung Fu Tea?

Use our Locations page or open the app — both show stores near you with hours, distance, and contact info.

Are you open today?

Hours vary by location. The most accurate hours live on each store’s listing in Locations or in the app.

My local store’s hours look wrong on the website.

Please call the store first so they can update their own hours. If it still isn’t fixed, contact us and we’ll help get it corrected.

Is there a Kung Fu Tea opening near me?

New locations are announced on @kungfutea and added to our Locations page once they’re confirmed.

A location near me closed — what happened?

Stores occasionally close or relocate. Our Locations page reflects the most current list of open stores.

Do you have Kung Fu Tea outside the US?

Yes — we operate internationally. International store lists are linked from the Locations page.

I lost something at a store — what now?

Please contact the store directly. Their phone number is on their Locations listing.

Why do menu items differ between stores?

Some items are franchised regionally or piloted at specific stores before a wider rollout. Your local store’s menu in the app is always the source of truth.

Where can I find the Dubai Chocolate or TKK menu items?

Those are special offerings at participating stores. See Dubai Chocolate locations and TKK locations for the participating store list.

How do I order online?

Order through the Kung Fu Tea app or at kungfutea.com. Pick your store, build your drink, choose pickup or delivery, and pay.

My drink was wrong — what should I do?

Please head back to the store (or, if you’re still there, flag your barista) — they’re empowered to remake your drink on the spot, and that’s the fastest fix. If the store can’t make it right, contact us with your order ID and we’ll step in.

My online order went to the wrong store.

Call that store directly first (their number is on your receipt) and ask to cancel or refund — they can usually fix it in minutes. If they can’t help or you don’t hear back within 5 business days, contact us.

The store was closed when I arrived to pick up my order.

Reach out to that store first for a refund — they’re the ones who took your order. If they don’t respond within 5 business days, contact us.

My order is taking longer than usual.

Let the shift lead at the store know — they’re empowered to fix it right there. If something feels off after you’ve left, contact us.

Can I cancel or modify an online order?

Call your store right away — only the store can change or cancel before they start making your drink. Their number is on your receipt.

Does the app default to my favorite store?

The app picks the closest store to your current location by default — not necessarily the one you visit most. Always double-check the store name on the checkout screen before confirming.

Why isn’t a menu item available for online ordering?

Some items are in-store-only or only available certain hours. Online availability is set by each store.

Can I place an order for later?

Yes — most stores support same-day scheduled pickup during their operating hours. Pick the time at checkout.

How do I get a receipt?

Receipts are emailed automatically after checkout, and you can view your order history in the app.

Where do I download the Kung Fu Tea app?

Apple App Store and Google Play — direct links are at kungfutea.com/app-download.

I can’t log in. What do I try first?

Tap the “Log in with SSO” button on the login screen — that’s the standard way to sign in. If you’re still having trouble, use the Forgot Password link, then contact us if the issue persists.

I forgot my password.

Tap “Forgot Password” on the login screen and follow the email link. If you don’t see the email within 10 minutes, check spam, then contact us.

My birthday is wrong. How do I change it?

The birthday field is locked to keep birthday rewards accurate. Contact us with the correction and we’ll update it.

I want to delete my account.

In the app, go to More → Actions → Delete Account. Once deleted, the account cannot be recovered and any Bubbles, status, or stored balance will be lost.

I have two accounts — can you merge them?

Yes. Contact us with both account details (the emails and phone numbers on each) and we’ll merge them safely.

What’s the difference between Bubble History and Order History?

Bubble History shows the points you’ve earned. Order History shows your recent orders as digital receipts.

Can I change my email or phone number?

Yes — go to your Profile in the app. Some changes may require verification.

My app says my account is suspended. What happened?

Accounts are suspended for unusual activity flagged by our system. Contact us so we can review and reinstate.

The app crashed or a button isn’t working.

First, make sure you’re on the latest version from the App Store or Google Play. If the issue persists, contact us with your phone model and what you were doing when it crashed.

How do I earn Bubbles?

Every dollar you spend in the app earns you 2 Bubbles at the base rate. Higher belt levels earn faster.

What are belt levels and how do I level up?

Belt levels go from White through Black. Each level up earns Bubbles faster and unlocks bigger rewards. Full mechanics live in our Loyalty Program Terms.

Why was my belt downgraded?

Belt level is reviewed on a rolling 365-day window. If you don’t earn enough Bubbles in that window, your belt level can drop. Keep ordering and you’ll climb right back.

How do I keep my Black Belt status?

Earn enough Bubbles within 365 days to maintain the level. Details in the Loyalty Program Terms.

How do I redeem a reward?

Open the app, go to your Rewards tab, toggle the reward you want to use, and pay through the app. The reward applies at checkout.

Can I use more than one reward at a time?

No — only one reward per order, unless a specific promotion says otherwise. The app applies the reward closest to expiration by default. You can toggle a different one in the Rewards tab.

My reward didn’t apply to my order.

Loyalty rewards apply to the next order — not the same one they were earned on. If you’ve checked that and still don’t see it applied, contact us with the order ID.

Where do I see my reward expiration dates?

Each reward in the Rewards tab shows its expiration. Unfortunately we can’t extend individual reward expirations.

My friend used my referral but I didn’t get credit.

Your friend has to redeem the free welcome drink ($4) and spend twice that amount ($8) before referral credit is issued. Amounts vary by belt level.

What’s a birthday reward?

A free reward we send during your birthday month. To make sure you get it, double-check your birthday in the app (or contact us to fix it).

I unlocked Black Belt — how do I claim it?

Watch for the email — it will include redemption instructions. Trouble? Contact us.

What’s an opt-in campaign?

Some promotions (such as free topping or $1 off) require you to opt in by clicking the button in the email we sent. Once you opt in, the reward shows up in your Rewards tab and applies to your next eligible order.

I was charged twice on an in-store order.

Start at the store where it happened — show them your bank statement and they can usually void or refund the duplicate on the spot. If they can’t resolve it, contact us with your order ID and the date.

I was charged twice on an app or online order.

Contact us with your order ID — app/online duplicate charges are handled by our team, not the store.

My app auto-reloaded and I didn’t want it to.

In the app, go to Payment Settings and change your payment method away from “preload/reload.” That stops future reloads. For a refund on the reload amount, contact us.

Can a refund go to a different card?

No — refunds go back only to the original payment method.

The store scanner wouldn’t accept my app.

Let the cashier or shift lead know in the moment so they can troubleshoot for you. If you didn’t earn Bubbles because of it, contact us with a photo of your receipt and we’ll do our best to credit you.

I paid in-store without using the app — can I still get Bubbles?

Bubbles are earned only on app-based purchases. If the store’s scanner wasn’t working at checkout, ask the shift lead first; if they can’t help, contact us with your receipt photo.

Can I pay with cash?

Yes — every store accepts cash for in-person orders. App and online orders are card or digital wallet only.

Where’s my receipt?

Emailed automatically after every app or online purchase. You can also view your full order history in the app.

What payment methods does the app accept?

Major credit and debit cards, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay where available.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes — two kinds. A digital in-store gift card for buying drinks (sent through the app), and a merchandise gift card for our online store only.

How do I send a gift card?

Open the app, tap the menu icon (top left), select Send a Digital Gift Card, and enter the recipient’s name, email, and a message.

I sent a gift card to the wrong email.

Contact us with the order details and we’ll redirect it.

How do I check my gift card balance?

Check your balance at kungfutea.com/balance or in the app.

My gift card isn’t working.

Contact us with the gift card number and the store you tried to use it at — we’ll investigate.

Do gift cards expire?

Our standard gift cards do not expire.

Can I use a digital gift card on the merchandise store?

No — drink gift cards work at our cafes (via the app). Merchandise gift cards work only at our online merchandise store.

Can I reload a gift card?

Yes — gift card balances can be reloaded in the app.

How do I order delivery?

Through the Kung Fu Tea app (where available), or directly via DoorDash, UberEats, or Grubhub. Availability varies by store.

Why is delivery unavailable at my location?

Not every store offers delivery, and delivery hours can differ from in-store hours. Check the store’s listing on Locations.

My delivery never arrived, was wrong, or is late.

Start with the delivery platform — they handle the driver and the order on their side:

  • DoorDash — (855) 973-1040
  • UberEats — (866) 987-3750
  • Grubhub — (888) 841-1789

If the platform can’t resolve it, contact us.

Can I cancel or change a delivery order after placing it?

Once the driver is on the way, changes usually aren’t possible. Reach out to the delivery platform immediately if you need to try.

Can I tip my driver after the order is placed?

Tips can’t be added once the order is submitted. If you’d like to tip, please give cash to the driver on arrival.

Why is my drink different on delivery vs. in-store?

Menu availability and pricing can differ on third-party platforms, since those are managed by the delivery partners.

Can I switch a pickup order to delivery (or vice versa)?

No — once an order is placed, it can’t be converted. You’d need to cancel and re-order.

Can I schedule delivery for later?

Same-day scheduled delivery is supported by most platforms during the store’s operating hours. Scheduling for future days isn’t available.

Do you offer catering or large orders?

Some locations offer catering. Reach out to your local store directly (their number is on Locations) for availability, lead time, and pricing.
